I bought 1.5, 2, and 2.5 inch lengths and all perform the same. I think I go through as many nails clearing a jammed gun as regular use. When things are working properly this nailer makes life much easier, though. I get a lot of nail jams with my dewalt rechargeable finish nailer. The gun is new and it is the first I have ever used.so it is possible that the problem is with me or the gun. It is very frustrating.
I bought a pack of these (4,000 nails) and they fit perfectly in the nailer and have performed flawlessly. When I first bought my DeWalt electric nailer I also got a package of 2-1/2 inch nails which have many uses, but they tended to be a bit too long for other projects. I am impressed that I have never had a single misfire on my electric nailer--now if they could only get the weight down a bit.
